Bowl of Fun Lanes Ribbon Cutting

The Development Group celebrated the opening of a recent economic development project, the Bowl of Fun Lanes, with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, August 26.

The Development Group board members, Hardee County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Hardee County Board of County Commissioners and Bowl of Fun Lanes staff posed for a picture.

Denise Grimsley, CEO of The Development Group, spoke to the audience about the importance of building a vibrant community. “Our mission at The Development Group is to inspire economic growth. For years we focused strictly on industrial growth. But what we’ve learned from our interactions with businesses, industrial businesses, manufacturers, and also through our focus groups, is that it is so much more than that.” Denise asked the crowd, “what comes first? The chicken or the egg?” She responded that in terms of economic development and attracting businesses, the answer is both. Amenities like the bowling alley are necessary in attracting businesses to Hardee County.
